EMG X Series

The EMG X will have a hotter output than the original EMGs or the Fender Vintage Noiseless. I have an original EMG p/j set as well as the FVN Gen 1 and like both . Haven't heard or played the X in person, but they sound promising.

As far as Fender Noiseless go, I prefer the SCN Gen2 over Gen 1 or Gen 3, FWIW. I have those in a fretless jazz and love 'em.

EMG X's. Or regular ones. I actually prefer the PJ's over the PJX's because they're not as bright. EMG has some videos on their site comparing the PJ's and PJX's that are pretty dead on to what I hear with mine. Some love the brightness, but it's overkill for me as I go for darker tones. But not big on the Vintage Noiseless pickups. Kind of meh. You want to go that route try DiMarzio Ultrajazzes instead.
