Eminence Legend BP102 speakers 10"

It looks like I'd be down between 2 and 3 dB probably at between 650 - 700 Hz. F3 would be around 50 Hz. The BP102 is probably more efficient than the original woofer was.

The 1.6 ft^3 box is squarely between two of the Eminence recommended designs (1 ft^3 and 2 ft^3 are in the PDF). I can retune the box if necessary, in fact I did a such a crappy job of cutting the hole for the port originally that a do-over is probably warranted.

The crossover isn't going to be touched. The current 31 Hz box tuning is nice because it has a reasonable curve and doesn't unload the driver even on the fundamental of the low B. I'm not an expert at this stuff, so I'm inviting comments, but it looks good to me.

The BP102 is attractive because it does a good low end and is available in four ohms, like the original speaker. The existing crossover is at 800 Hz with 24 db/octave. 1.6 ft^ cab tuned to 31 Hz. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Again, I just need to have the cab working - it does see use. It looks like a good fit for the BP102-4. Any reason I shouldn't pick one up to drop into the cab? It certainly can't be any worse than the Parts Express eight ohm I already have in there.

Whoops - a small wrinkle - I was modeling with a BP102, not a BP102-4. Performance would be similar with the BP102-4 as far as I can tell.

I built a WinISD .WDR file for the BP102-4 from the T/S parameters on the Eminence site. It's available upon request - notably I'd love Greenboy to host it (or an improved version) since he has a collection going. Unless there's a different preferred site for .WDR files, that is.

That is a nice idea, but who is going to maintain that library?
You can't make it anything except Read-Only because some putz in (select_hacker_country) will get into it and screw it all up.

This means every new driver has to be submitted to the librarian then added to the library.
It sounds like a lot of unpaid work.

+1 on the mids. I dropped 4 BP102's into a Peavey 410TXV cab and it is a low end beast.

+1 on using the EQ to compensate. I've used it with an Ashdown EVO II and a Peavey preamp and QSC PLX1602 and I've been able to get the sounds I want out of it. I just wish it didn't weigh 105 pounds.

I've got a Peavey 410TVX sitting in the garage. The BP102 is what I thinking. It sounded good factory. So you so it's worth dropping 300 bucks into?
