Empty 1U rack spot

IMG_20201122_173306032.jpg
Any suggestions on what to ask Santa to fill this empty spot?
I cant seem to find anything interesting. Compressor, BBE Maximizer, or wireless? I'm sure there is a lot of stuff out there i dont know about. What would you get to fill that spot and why? Thanks.

Alembic SF-2 Superfilter. Not super easy to find used but they are out there. Why? Because it’s the must profoundly awesome, unique, useful, musical, and versatile, tone shaping EQ/filter ever created. For about 15 years it’s been my all time favorite processor.
That would probably be something i would appreciate. Yeah 1500 to 2000 bucks used, out of price range. Everything cool these days are in a pedal. Not much out there for racks. I would love to try an sf2 out.

Wow, they must have appreciated in recent years. Last I looked they were still under $1000 used. I understand that’s not doable for many folks, but if you can ever swing it, it’s worth EVERY PENNY.

i like those empty spaces for ventilation. keeping the space as a one-unit 'airflow facilitator' would allow you to ask santa for something else.

I wanted to get a 2U rack fan setup for the back, but rack isn't deep enough. I had a 2U grill like what's in front for the back to give it more support. I took it off cause it put cables under stress and with everything in the rack, it's pretty sturdy without it.

1. I looked at wireless setups which i really have no use for at the moment, or even next spring.
2. Black light would look cool and probably cheap.
3. I could use the alembic super filter or it would be something i would use. To much money right now.
4. Compressors. DBX is affordable, I probably dont know how to use one right. I hardly use the one on the svt 7.
5. Two notes torpedo live: Interesting. Going to read up on it some more.

Kind of leaning toward a rack mount interface. I can take it out for gigs in the future which isn't looking to bright.
Might have to do some saving to get a nice one.

Not pulling the trigger on anything yet.

YES....put in a drawer. You can put your cords in it, batteries, small flashlight, bottle of Ibuprofen, etc. I've been threatening to do that to mine for years but just have never gotten around to it.

You’ll maybe think this isn’t a game changer but it’s actually very helpful playing gigs in dark stages. Back when I used rack gear I had a single space rack panel made with three xlr out jacks. My rack housed my bass amp and two wireless mic systems. The three xlr outs were connected to the xlr out on my bass head and the two vocal wireless systems. It made it really easy to connect the mics on dark stages without digging around behind the rack.
