This is how I'm rolling tonight.

If it's cheap enough might consider as I really dig the Ladder Filter in the SA Artifakt, who am I kidding I don't have fun money anymore, maybe if I gig more.
But this would never bump the new MXR Bass Synth that seems to be at the top of nearly everyone's list.

After the B-Tron, I'm just going to stay away from Behringer. I've never been impressed and always disappointed.

I honestly have mild interest on the SA Artifakt. On one hand it intrigues me, on the other hand, too many options scare me :-)

I have mixed emotions about Behringer, every piece I have ever owned did decent or better duty including the B2600 Arp 2600 clone that I think is excellent, I have used a few ARP 2600 synths over the years and it was always a dream to own my own. Dreams do come true. The mixers, DI and headphone amps have been fine for my always meager budget. I think they get a lot of bashing that is not deserved, but surely some is. YMMV.

For the most part I have resisted the things that Behringer is doing with pedals but they are interesting to me for offering otherwise unobtainable or very expensive pieces at prices that most musicians can afford. Pedals don't do it for me with my collection but some of their synth offerings are hard to beat at the price points often even less that soft synth options.

I understand that folks get overwhelmed with SA pedals because of all the complexities but that I why I love them as there are always new realms to discover and be creative with especially everything they have offered since the C4 Synth like the Ultrawaves and Artifakt. Coming from an analog and old school recording field the jump to DAWS was at first intimidating, still is in many ways of I am honest, but at this point there is no way I would go back unless someone has deep pockets for gear and to pay for my time. What I can do at my meager budget at home would cost 100K or more analog. I find myself feeling the same way when it comes to effects.

could someone explain the colour and intensity knobs on the meathead please? the manual isn't very clear.

edit: the Artisanal manual says that colour is resonance but it seems to do more. intensity seems to work in reverse depending on the sweep up/down switch.
I wouldn't be surprised on either of those - since it's based on the old Meatball, I would assume that it also has its idiosyncrasies.

Resonance can be weird/fun, especially at higher levels. It can self oscillate, act as a tone control, boosts the signal, etc. with the intensity, it probably is wired to act like that with the sweep direction.

My approach with most filters is to glance at the manual, but then work the knobs until I like it :-)

x100 this is pretty much true for every filter I own. Each circuit bender will make tweaks based on their own preferences and also the available components.
Even the same circuit design will have variances this is the conundrum and appeal of analog circuits.

Figured I would start here, I have an Chunk Systems Agent 00 Funk MK2 that I will be posting in the classifieds today or tomorrow. I love it but have the OS and despite the aggravation, I have gotten used to the interface and can live with it. If you are interested, DM me. Best!!
ah hell ... DM'ed. I might need a spare ...
