Epi VJ or Blackheart Killer Ant?

yes yes, I know. guitar amps. I plan on running a Squire Classic Vibe P through one of these, the through an ampeg svt210av, the upright micro stack. I will be mostly playing new wave punk and desert rock (and similar styles, I hate Genre-Dropping). yes, no? will it be loud enough with a drummer and a guitarist?

Uhmm, the Ampeg, probably, after all it is a 200watts capable 2x10 cab.

I have a Epi VJ, it is good for guitar but it will not cut it for bass, you won't have any headroom and it breaks up pretty quick. It's only 5 watts after all, you will be non-existant against a guitar and drums. The Blackheart is only 1 watt.

For $875 you could get a good bass and bass amp shopping used.
Look around for a Peavey MkIV bass head, you could probably find one in good shape for under $200, you could find a fairly wide variety of used bass cabs between $150-$300 and that will still leave you a few hundred for a bass which could get you something pretty decent, Look for Peavey, Yamaha and Ibanez. Heck even an SX and a good setup and new strings will come in under $200.

Those amps will not work for bass.

'Normal' guitar tube amps, 60 - 100W, will barely work for very dirty bass. Those amps will produce nothing louder than a mouse fart for bass.

also, I plan on buying new bass wise. bad experiences with used, plus it will disuade me from hacking it to bits for a couple of months

as an added bonus, the peavey 400 looks like pure ass kicking. thanks for the guidance.

They all Look OK. I'd possibly go 4 a bigger cab tho, or at leasty plan on adding another `1x12 later. I's start w/ a 1x15" that'll get U thru MOST gigs! Or a 2x12 or a 2x10, BUT 1`x15" would be MY 1sy choice= especially w/ a nice distortion! That BIG MUFF is cool. But See if U can either get a green Russian one or even the newer Bass big muff. BUT that one'll do fine!!! There really isn't MUCH difference between the Green Russian Version & this USA one.
I'd Still try for a 1x15" cab- it'll handle the Amp's power far better.

Are you serious? .25 watts? With guitarist and drummer? I think that is a practice amp for guitar late at night in an apartment or something...

And the transformers aren't near big enough to reproduce bass. even if it's grind you want. I hoped to do the same with this little 15w guitar amp I bought last year, but the transformers are so small that it sounds like a mosquito with a glandular problem.

The blackheart amp is 1/4 watt. Forget it. You need around 300-400 watts with a guitarist and drummer.
