which berg series is it that has the black enclosure and grill, with the lime green badge? hs or ht?
cause that is the kind that is for sale locally, in near mint condition, 4 ohms, with a cover and casters.....what would be a fair price for such a cab?

All the newer models have the black enclosure and grill, and all the Berg cabs have the green badge. What is the speaker configuration (112, 210, etc.)?
PS The HS series speakers have grey cones. The AE line has a spray on coating. Check out Jim's website. Pictures of all the current cabs are provided.
The only two 410's that Jim makes are the HS410 (black carpet, grey cone ceramic drivers, castors.. about 90 pounds or so with castors) and the AE410 (spray on finish, black cones, no castors.. about 65 pounds or so). Both are 4ohms. There are pictures of both on his website.
I believe the HS410 sells for around $1,000 new and the AE for around $1,100.
ahhh, ok. i think this was the HS410, then. and in mint condition with a cover and casters it was selling for 750.

That HS410 is a wonderful cab, but a bit heavy. It's only 16" deep though, so as long as you aren't hauling it up and down a lot of stairs, it's not too bad. That seems like a decent price (actually a pretty darn good price if it includes the very nice padded cover) assuming it's in perfect shape. I like the F1 with my HS210 quite a bit... punchy and tight, and smoother and less upper mid aggressive than the AE line.
The NYC 210 is pretty cool. It will be wider and deeper and smoother than the HS410, but not nearly as loud.
yeah, weighing the options, either way, if my needs change when i start gigging again, i could sell either option on the used market without taking a hit. the beauty of used gear and familiarity with an exceptional forum on which to market such gear
i agree also, the thread has sort of run its course regarding the whole "oooh, look how light this is!" aspect of it....but if it turns out to eb a general discussion of epifani gear, the new ps amps and eventually the piccalo should get some discussion im sure.
+1. That PS1000 might be a big winner. Quite a few of us have posted that a single channel 902 at a lower cost would be quite cool, and that's pretty much what the 1000 is. The 400 seems large and expensive for its power rating. The 1000, at a selling price of right around $1,000 is impressive.
I think the price point of the Piccolo will be key. If they can get it to around $1,000 or under, they will probably sell quite a few, although IMO and IME the Epifani amp voicing is an 'acquired taste'.
haha, im well aware of your opinion on their voicing, kind sir ;-) ...i thought i read somewhere that the piccalo was supposed ot be around 850 street price....could be wrong, but that wouldnt be too shabby, and would certainly throw it headfirst into the micro amp buzz. i was wondering if the smaller piccalo could be a bit tighter and quicker than the traditional epifani voicing...cant believe no one has tried any of the prototpes or demos, didnt they have some at NAMM?
i agree about the ps 1000, and am pretty underwhelmed about the ps 400...i like that it is in the competitive price range of a llot of other mid priced solid state amps(700rb, lm II, etc) but it still dosnt make much sense to me. i would have put out a new version of the ps600 that looks like the ps400 does, get rid of that nasty(imo) blue face, and carry on with the general classy aesthetic of the rest fo the epifani line of amps. then lowering the price to 700 would make it a really big competitor for th rest of the mid priced solid state market, with the ps1000 as that extra beefy option for power thirsty players. oh well, hopefully it works out for them.

Yeah, $850 street would make that a player! From what I remember, I think the Picollo at NAMM was just a mock-up with no guts in it yet. I look forward to trying one.
I just ordered the new TecAmp Puma500, which is also supposed to be cool, but a touch pricey.

yeah, i had a weird weekend as far as sleep patterns are concerned, so here i am...amp noodling as well. although i have made almost 300 dollars during the course of our conversations tonight playing online poker...haha...maybe that hs 4x10 will have to find a home with em after all...we shall see.
Is anyone using a tube amp with their Epifani cabs, really interested in using a pair of single driver Epifani cabs or a UL 310 or something that size.
I've used the Sadowsky SA200 through a UL310.
Sounded pretty amazing, I've also tried it through an NYC 310 and it sounded even better.
you're definately not gonna get the vintage sound out of these speakers but i found the NYC had more girth than the ultralight.
however I dont use the sadowsky anymore
Firstly why isn't there a SA200 in Brisvegas so I can try one! and secondly, vintage isn't my thing so that sound great. I would buy the NYC but my wallet says UL, so my ears will have to live with it
