I have a UL 610 that I spend quality time with
... what would you like to know?
Not that I'd need to run one, but just curious to hear what's up.
Well, I have used the UL610 in bars, and outdoor gigs. And outside seems to be where it shines... lots of deep bass, and loud! I just got the Genz, but I have been using it with a GK 1001 RB II and Mark Bass LMII with great results.... by the way it is pretty damn light at 82 lbs for a 610.
once i start gigging again after i graduate this spring, i think an ul 6x10 might have to become a reality. unbelieveable how monstrous a cab it is for 82lbs.
has anyone ever used a 2x10 and 1x12 together? right now i have an NYV 1x12 and NYC 1x10, but i am returning the 1x10 due to some problems with its tweeter and i think id like to get an 8ohm 2x10 to replace it....any thoughts would be great!

do a search for my name, dom. i had used one for a bit, and loved it! but frankly, it was overkill for alot of gigs, and taking that thing downtown was never an option.

and yea, i remember mine being supremely loud. the bass was deep, but you could definitely feel that mother when the wattage was pumpin.

I own both a UL115 (S1) and a UL212 (S1, was a S2).
I love both these cabs. The UL115 doesn't really get used since i got the UL212. Thats now my regular cab and its got a great tone.
Saying that my UL212 is the worst built cab i have ever seen. Screws hanging out, screw holes at the handles threaded so the screws can just be pulled out and one driver packed up within a few weeks of me having it.
Glad i kept it though.

Yeah, i made a big deal of it at the time.
Its been fine since i replaced both drivers but the workmanship was/is shocking for a cab in this price range.
It has taken me quite a while to have confidence in this cab. sound wise i have no complaints but up until recently i would still worry about what could go wrong at gigs. Never did find out what was up with the Driver.
Guess its just one of those things. Almost got a UL310 last year as well so its not put me off getting another UL and i cant fault the UL115 at all.

This is the sole case I've ever heard of such a quality issue with Epifani cabs. Makes me wonder about who you got it from, and what may have happened to it between the factory and you?
Well i could just about understand the fact that a lot of the screws on the front were halfway out. I guess (but dont really believe) that being in transit could have done that. But the most worrying thing was the way the handles and covering had been put on so badly.
Also if you remember it came loaded with S2 drivers even though it was a S1 cab so maybe it wasn't supposed to be sold anyway.
I wasn't happy having to re wire it all but then i did get it from another country and it saved a lot of time doing this myself rather than having to send it back and wait.
Still, its a great cab and its working very well so im happy (now).
No, I wasn't suggesting any of this happened in shipment. I'm concerned that this was a demo or repair unit, one that may have been in a "not for sale" pile or section of whomever's stock area, that was sold as new when it should not have been, and without being inspected first (obviously). You just don't see or read about these kinds of problems with their products... VERY odd...
Im 99% sure it has a quality check signature on the back.
Ill have a look at the weekend.
It did come all wrapped up in plastic and in a Epifani box and certainly didn't look used in any way but i think your right about it not being for sale. It did look fine other than the bad join in the covering on the back. it was only when i went to take the handles off that the screws sort of feel out

Well, that quality sticker could have been from when it was "originally" inspected. My assumption (yes, I know, dangerous
) is that it was not really "brand new" when you got it... that it has some history you are not aware of.At the end of the day, it's fine now, and all is ok, this is more academic than anything else... just curious because of the rarity of something like this, that's all.

I also think my PS600 may have had a BRIEF history as a demo model. When I bought it, the dealer said it was the 'last one in stock'. Well, the demo would be, wouldnt it?
My thoughts are based on the fact that when I recieved it, it already had a considerable scratch on the bottom, and one of the resistors inside the unit was a little flaky until it finally gave out. I had it repaired by Epifani for just the cost of shipping so I am happy as a clam with the company.
Seems to me some dealers get greedy and try to sell the demo models as new. In my case everything worked out fine, yours sounds a lot more serious.

I agree, its very rare and nothing really for anyone else to worry about.
But i dont see how it being a demo model (as in shop floor i assume you mean) would make the screw holes as bad as they are and the fact that there is a gap between two sections of covering. No one would even notice the bad screw holes unless you tried to take them out and there were no marks around them on the handles themselves.
My theory, for what its worth, is that it was just badly made and sold like that.
