Epifani PS 600

So, I ordered an SKB 2U rack-case for my new PS600 from MF. It arrived today. I removed the four rubber feet (glued on) from the bottom of my PS600. I then got ready to insert it into the rack and I find that it will not fit into a 2U rack case because of the screws that protrude from the bottom of the PS600. 
I think a 3U rack is somewhat overkill for this small, lightweight amp. Don't you?

Edit: I contacted Epifani. There is no soft carry bag available. I was told that the SKB's are usually "warped" and that I should pry the frame apart to accomodate the screws and try to fit it in that way.

That's odd. I was hoping to fit the PS in a 3u gator rack bag along with my tuner. Hopefully I'll be able to do that.
I'm not sure how the edges of the frame are on the Gator rack bags, but the SKB is steel and the screw heads simply will not clear it. There was no way I was going to try to pry the SKB apart. MF would refuse to accept it as a return and I'd be out $140. I ordered a Gator 3U rack bag myself. However, I'm just planning on putting the PS in by itself.

If its 3u, cant you just put the ps in first, drop it down, and then it will be flush on the bottom? The screws arent immediately on the edge, right? Can you take pics?
No, the SKB I bought for the PS is 2U. There are several screw heads on the bottom of the PS that will not clear the opening. I guess if you go with a 3U, you can do as you suggest and put the PS in first, in the lower position.

MF doesn't have the 3U Gator bag in stock, so it may be a week or two before I see mine. If you get yours sooner, please let us know how you make out.

EDIT: Ok so played with it for about a half hour thus far. Sounds good, nice flat tone. Treble isnt too zingy, it has a little less of that bright clank that the 502 has, IMO. Been a while since Ive played throguh an all solid state rig, since ive been used to my demeter preamp with the crest, which packs a huge punch. Ill have to do some more playing with it, but so far so good. Main reason I got it was because it is lighter, and the crest was just a bit too annoying to carry. Ill be keeping that setup, just not bringing it anywhere, heh.

It seems that when you turn on these amps, the mute button is already engaged by default, and you have to turn the mute off in order to play. This normal?

you can remove the feet with a sharp knife, you just have to get it underneath a corner and pry them off, just be careful not to scratch the head.
about the racks, my 502 fits into a gator 2U rackbag just fine, infact there is space to spare and it has the same screws on the bottom of the head, if the height is the same on the PS600 then im sure a 2U would be fine.
also about the "Mute" switch being on when you turn the amp on, i was a bit worried about that when i first turned my 502 on, wondering why it wasnt working, but you get used to it pretty quick.

Yup, I am already used to it. It isnt a bad idea.
PS: this amp kills. I am enjoying it thoroughly. Ive tried a few different EQ settings. Bass/Treble boost works as expected. The bass knob really adds so much oomph, use with caution. The tone gets so full so fast. Right now I have my sterling EQ flat (what? no bass boost, thats insane. I have always boosted my bass) with the amp EQ bass flat (gasp!) and the mids and treble boosted ever so slightly. (treble is only boosted because my strings are getting old). I usually boost my bass, as stated, but I realized recently that it just makes you lose definition. I was watching some wooten vids and I decided to set my flat on the sterling and see how that works. It does work very well indeed.
