Epifani Quest Discontinued?

But you'll still need a power amp... this is only a pre....Rack ears are the way to go...
I plan on using it with either a small, portable power amp (that already has its own little bag), a self-powered speaker or in rare cases, a Stewart 2.1. I expect it will be spending lots of time in my backpack on the subway. Since I won't be using it with the Stewart very often, I'm not planning on leaving it in a rack.

I do lots of sessions where I just bring a preamp. I'm not always comfortable taking my Demeter 201 out on foot so having this SS preamp will make it feasible, especially if it's in my backpack. Furthermore, a rack case just stands out and looks conspicuous. I usually try to avoid drawing attention to myself. :ninja: :D

I pulled the trigger last Friday, mine should be here Wednesday. I'm a nomad gig player. My gear goes in a rack and sits on top of my cabs. I need the ears and I'm hoping that Epifani doesn't take their time getting them to me.... they should be like the Eden heads... rack ears included!! whicn makes me wonder why eden even makes them without rack ears??

To be honest, Mario, I agree. Rack ears should be standard, and I would want them, too (for when I want to use it with something other than a powered cab).

Tom.

When are you going to Rudy's? I haven't been there for a few months. The last time I was there I asked if they were going to carry the AI satellite amps and/or the Berg IP series and they had no idea what I was talking about. I didn't know when you planned on going but I should have a Quest by the end of the week! :hyper:
It'd be cool to maybe meet up there and do a comparison together some time since I haven't heard the IP's yet. I also have a Demeter 201, Raven Labs MDB-1/TBEQ and WWU that I may be able to bring as well. Let me know!

Got mine! :)

So ummm..... how's it sound? Like you remember it? You sold yours a while back.... was it not worth what you paid for it? I jumped on it because I fuigured it was a $500 pre amp all along.... it was kind of hard to justify the $1499 price tag, but for $499 it's a good deal on the level of the F1X's, Eden Nav's, Dem 201's and used Kern's. Your thoughts?

Well, it certainly looks like my old one, but I haven't been home yet to give it a listen. I anticipate it will sound the same. As to why I bought it, it was in part because after I heard my old one with the IP310/IP212 (which I didn't try until after I committed to sell it), I knew I'd like to have one again in the future. Then, the price was just too good to pass up. But to be honest, I really did expect that it would ship with the footpedal and rack ears. :(

Hey guys, now that your talking about the preamp I was thinking of getting a epifani ul502c(2X10 combo). but I was also thinking about getting a yorkville xs400t (2X10 combo). In your opinion do you think that the epifani is worth 1500 dollars more? but of course I will try these before I pick one but would you suggest one over the other?
