Epifani UL-410 VS UL2-310

Makes sense, and there is a good chance that I would have grabbed that UL310 in the classifieds if jmain didn't jump on it. :mad: :D

However, the thing I like about the small UL112 and the even smaller UL110 is that when carrying the cabs into somebody's house, I'm less likely to hit and damage their walls or molding on door frames as they are so small. I can't tell you how many dings I've got on the door frames at my house from carrying the UL410 in and out. :D

Yeah, it would take two trips with the two small cabs, but they are so light, I'm not sure it matters that much. Decisions, decisions....:D

Just scored a S1 UL-310!!! Like the 2 x 112 stack (PS/UL2), but wanted the one-cab thing. I may find myself bringing the 310 most of the time.:)

[response to derail]Then I and many others must be dumb consumers. :p Plus, you can plug a bass directly into it (with an adapter).

It certainly does not seem to make sense to you, but please don't deny the rest of us the opportunity to make our own decisions. And, more to the point of my original *cough* it is the loudest 1x12 solution (with either internal or external amplification) I have heard, and I thought that this point was at least somewhat relevant to the flow of discussion. Sorry for straying too far the 'dark side.' :rollno:

But, it certainly is a different animal, and no Epifani, so back to your regularly scheduled programming! :)[/response to derail]

Which cab was I trying to talk you into over the UL310, the UL410? I'd still recommend the UL410 over the UL310 for gigs, but then, what do I know? :D

Nah, you were helping me out with my decision b/t a 2x10 and the UL310, with the 310 being a better choice. I think it will work better for me, b/c I usually have PA support and may choose the 310 over my 112 b/c the size/weight isn't that much of a difference.

If I need something bigger down the road, I'll be all over a UL410 fa show!!

[Responding to response to derail]I would never deny anybody the right to spend $1800+ on a Bergantino IP series rig + an adapter, which to me seems like something that should be included. I guess they didn't include that because then they would be making the most expensive combo amps on the market.

Its a great Idea, they sound wonderful, they just don't fit the budget of most consumers. I think Epifani is high end stuff, and Bergantino IP's can easily cost DOUBLE the cost of a UL410 + LMII and we're still only talking about a 310 vs 410.

But alas we have derailed this thread enough to warrant another thread. Shame on us. :rollno: [/Responding to response to derail]

I received my S1 UL-310 last Friday (Thanks xqusemuah!). I didn't have a lot of time last weekend to check it out. Been playing a little in the evening, but got it out to full band practice (No PA - Tx Blues/Rock) last night.

Everyone was really impressed with the tone and the volume. I was running my LMII almost flat - a little bump in the low mid and the VLE about 9 o'clock. The drummer has heavy hands and I was cruising along with a VERY light touch with the gain at noon and the master at 8 to 9 o'clock.

The cab has great cut, with nice lows, mids and highs. It takes eq really well and I can get a thumpy old-school tone or a sizzly modern tone. Tight low end and handles the B nicely. I was a little worried b/c I have been playing mostly 12's for the last year, but I was really impressed with the punch of the cab (duh) but still get a little 'width' to the notes.

I really needed a versatile cab that could go from blues/rock to funk and R&B, to gospel, to smooth. Really digging this setup. Thanks for the discourse!!
