Epifani UL-410 VS UL2-310

Thing is, IF they actually designed and tuned the cab with internal baffling and whatnot for the uneven power distribution, AND if they rated it at a much safer 500W for that one lone 10 driver, then it'd probably work fine. Still nowhere near as good as using (albeit more expensive) custom 12/24 ohm drivers in a simple parallel scheme, but at least it wouldn't be such a funky and risky design.
Problem is, I'm assuming it's just a box, not specially tuned for the uneven power distribution, and, of course they're overrating the power handling for this kind of wiring with these speakers. IMHO, in this case, two strikes and you're out. None for me, thanks.

Or a UL310!
For probably 90% of my gigs, I think the UL310 would cover them fine.
After hearing all the discussion, I think I'd prefer an S1 UL310 (or two) and/or an S2 UL410.
[Of course, the proof of the pudding would be in my ears and so far, I've heard none of the above -- only Epi's I've heard at all was a T-112 about 7 years ago.]
P.S.
[I'm not quite sure why I would be evaluating bass equipment with pudding in my ears, but I would think it would result in a very smooth sound.]

I'm thinking the exact same thing as far as the 90% (+) and the one of the two cabs (2 would probably be 1 too many for me).
Speaking of pudding, I should be trying out cabs with earplugs in.
I know I am getting old when I get more excited about fitting a 410 and two 112's in a car than the 3 lovely ladies

I don't know what Dr Bass were doing but there is no way you can apply the same voltage to 4 ohm and 8 ohm versions of a driver and get the same SPL measurement - unless you move the mic twice as far away for the 4 ohm driver...

I would simply assume their testing methods are just as debatable as their design, at least in this case, and not pay too much attention to their results.
