Epiphone basses

Yes ! I have that natural T-Bird Pro also. Mine does not have a low action because of the fretwork being not real even. I learned to play with a "medium" action- cleaner sound, deeper bass, etc. The active eq is good. It also is a color that Gibson does not use much. The Embassy sounded pretty good also.

INTRODUCING THE
EPIPHONE EMBASSY BASS

Ever since it was first introduced in 1963, the Epiphone Embassy Bass has been a player favorite, and now it's back and better than ever.

Featuring an asymmetrical solid mahogany double-cutaway body, a 34" scale mahogany neck capped with an Indian laurel fretboard with 20 medium jumbo frets, a 2 x 2 headstock design for improved balance, and a pair of powerful ProBucker 760 humbucking pickups, along with master volume and tone controls, as well as a pickup blend knob for outstanding tonal versatility."

I used to disregard Gibson-style basses... I don't know why, other than that there are just so many Fender role models in the bass world.

This past fall I treated myself to an Epi Vintage Pro Tbird. OMG... amazing quality, amazing price-performance, and that tone, holy s**t!

I would love to see more with the same pickups, but in a more ergonomic design, like the Embassy Pro except attractive. Would really love a LP-style Epi bass now, and I think an Explorer with these ProBucker pickups would be awesome. I'd buy one. I'd also love more EB-style (or SG style) options in different colours - that cherry red makes me feel like I'm an Angus Young wannabe, but on bass. Gimme ebony, white, Pelham Blue, Gold... all of them.

My only beef is that they really, really need to make sure they're also selling hard shell cases that fit these designs, unlike the VP T bird.

Vintage color choices too!

I’d like to see the ripper/grabber reissued, but with the arrow headstock and as a medium scale. IMO most cool Gibson/Epiphone designs are ruined by being made a 34” scale. If I wanted long scale, I’d buy literally any other brand, especially with gibby body shapes. Just doesn’t balance, or look, right.
The other thing that would be awesome would be if they made a bass using the same body as the newly reissued Wilshire/coronet. It’d be a poor man’s serek!

I guess there's always next year for the Epiphone Ripper?

Back in 1999 I picked one up with a hard case on closeout. It was my only bass for about 6 years. Eventually I picked up a Jazz because it was more "authentic" for the music I was playing at the time.

I'm a huge Kiss fan so I should have just held on to it and left it tuned down to Eb. There's no telling how many hours I've spent staring at the cover of Alive!

It's one of the very few instruments that I regret selling. Seems like this model never shows up used.

Mine was Ebony with just a single volume and tone control. Neck was maple with an Epi shaped headstock instead of the more correct "V" shape. IIRC the headstock was also black.

It sounded like a piano and had a pretty narrow neck that was comfortable for converted guitar player like myself.
