How coincidental. I bought a Brian May short scale guitar recently to convert to a sub-short scale bass, including modifying it to look just like his guitar.

Greetings! Epiphone re-released the Embassy and I have GAS again for it. I'm hoping for people who sold one to chime in on why. Ideally I'd like to be talked out of my GAS because $550 CAD goes beyond an impulse buy.

I have played one, and I really like the body and electronics but the neck is just okay. So I'm split and want to hear opinions from long time owners and ideally those who decided to part with theirs.

So this was my first time playing an EB0. I'd been GASing for something different for a while, maybe something red, maybe not. Ideally transparent and very different from my Fenders and Jackson. So I tried the Embassy and walked away both very impressed and disappointed. In a lot of ways it just felt like a P bass. Sounded wicked with both pickups full on, and I love thin bodies on my instruments. Depending on work after September I may still get one.

But enter the EB0. It feels very different to my Fenders. It sounds very different too. Mudbucker doesn't feel appropriate though. There's a lot of clarity and growl in the upper mids. I really dig how it sounds. It needs a setup though. The E string is bwaping and dead with the pickup too high on that one. So it Rumbles everything on the low notes, and I don't mind. It's a very thick sound but the bass itself feels thin and easy to play. It balances like :poop: but it's light enough that it's fine to sit down with.

I think I'm going to put black Hipshot hardware on it, pull the pickguard, change the input jack nut to a black one, and put the Dunlop SS strings I have sitting around on it. Then let those bright, tense boys sit on there for a few years to get real groovy sounding.

The EB-0 would need 1/2" Hipshot Ultralites, yes?

Welp, sign me up! This guy just popped up on the L&M Gear Hunter site and I called immediatly to verify it. It's a 2019, Indo model that's had about 600 hours of renting but is in like new condition. Good price, got a warranty on it. Now here's hoping it gets here Friday and my new Tele on Sunday. :woot:

Give me a couple of days when I can sign you up. Epi Eb-0 basses are the best.
