The tuners, it’s one of those things, doesn’t bother me, but others have also commented.

In June I got the nut replaced with bone. The original partly disintegrated the first time I changed strings, what was left fell to crumbs and came clean out of the slot in May. I thought of giving it away, maybe some day buying the new sparkly ones that just came out.

Glad I got it fixed, it’s really mine, came back like new and set up better than with me.

Just curious, is anyone running super low action on theirs? I intend to do so with "mine", probably with balanced low tension rounds...

No, seriously, while my reference is my 60s Embassy and not the current reboot, the intonation and bridge height/angle are adjustable. If you really need to drop just one string at the bridge, you have some filing to do. There is an adjustable truss rod. That’s actually good enough most of the time. If you really need independent saddle heights, see the discussion of the Hipshot aftermarket bridge earlier in the thread. It’s not a boutique precision instrument, but you should be able to bring it into a setup you find agreeable.

I have a vision that within a few years, Gibson starts selling Custom Shop Embassy Deluxe basses with high-end hardware and nicer wood for $3K.

I put the Hipshot replacement bridge on and I get nice low action with the individual saddle adjustability.The main reason I bought it.I'd wage you can use any strings.That said mine arrived nicely set up and fairly low and I quickly changed to a set of Rotos' 66 thin gauge.

Mine is *very* light, one of the lightest basses I’ve owned by a long shot. And it sounds very heavy.

No, but I’m curious - what is the stock pot value?

I had the Star wiring harness installed and to my ears it tightens the pickups sound considerably.I found the stock pups a tad on the dull side, again to my ears.The Starr wiring seems to liven and tighten the sound and my tech who did the install agreed.I'm happy with the upgrade and would recommend the install to anyone interested in doing it .

I'm partial to it also and it won out over the Forest Green.I recently added these new kind of matching tone controls.

Mine is *very* light, one of the lightest basses I’ve owned by a long shot. And it sounds very heavy.

I think the Hipshot Ultralight 3/8" tuners would work. If I ever get one of these and go that route I think I'd opt for the cloverleaf keys instead

I have read a lot about the bridge placement issue with these basses. My closest retailer was kind enough to send me pictures of the two embassies they have in stock. Does it look like these would have the intonation issues?

No, not based on the visual evidence. There's room for adjustment on all four strings.

I have owned the Almond for close to a year after struggling to choose against the green.These are great basses imo.Especially considering the price.You may be able to intonate the Embassy with the bridge but I'm not a fan at all of Gibson style 2 and 3 point bridges.There is no height adjustment on the strings. I chose to replace it with a Hip Shot and it is a big improvement in my opinion.
I have made this replacement on other Epiphone and Gibson's.Still it's a great bass and the 2 pointer is not a deal breaker by no means.

Hip Shot Supertone two point bridge
I got it on Reverb for a bit over $90. It was the best price I found.It is somewhat pricey but it's a good one and if you plan on using this bass in any capacity I think it's worth it.
