oh, and in an attempt to re-rail the thread, the press for episode III is pretty good. 12 reviews are available on rottentomatoes, and 10 are good, although some are a bit backhanded.

I don't get how Count Dooko seemed to be on Palpatine's side(as a Sith) but fought a war against him as a seperatist(because Palpatine was the Republic leader). Can anyone clear this up for me?

Palpatine is playing both sides against the middle, so to speak. He engineered the seperatist movement, and had the robot army built, so that he could convince the republic of the need to have an army, and for him to assume "emergency powers." This basically allowed for his ascent to power. The senate, seeing the percieved threat, put him in charge of the entire government, with the caveat that he would give it back after the war ended. Well, he, being in complete power, declares himself emperor, and that is the beginning of the empire.
Dooku helps with the seperatist army, while Palpatine leads the clone army. They are, from an outsider's perspective, opposed to eachother. However, it is unknown to everyone else that they are BOTH sith lords, working in conjunction. Always two sith lords, remember? Whether palpatine is somehow playing dooku remains to be seen, as well.

There is always a rivalry with Sith Lords and their apprentices. Never based on trust, moreso on deceit, and corruption and lust for power....
WHY do you think Count Dooku spilled the entire beans about Palpatine to Obi-Wan in Attack of the Clones? (In the scene where Obi Wan is imprisonned on Geonosis) Because Dooku himself had the longing to OFF is "Master" and rule the galaxy , and he felt if he could persuade Obi by dropping Qui-Gon Jinn's name, he would get Obi as his (unknowing) Sith apprentice... little does Dooku know Sidious is only using Dooku to get to Anakin, he's testing Anakin to see how loyal he is. ( I edited out the spoiler)
Same as in the end of ROTJ, the Emperor is sick of having to rely on his "cripple" apprenitce, Darth Vader, and is using him to get to his son Luke. He wasnts to get Luke so pissed off that he'll off his own dad and take his place...but that desn't happen, hence Anakin's redemption.
No honor in the way of the Sith...and that is what they despise in the Jedi...

Sure, at the end, when he throws palpatine off the edge, he is, but I think before that, when he offers Luke to rule side-by-side as father and son, it was him wanting to stop being second-fiddle to emperor palpatine, and be the emperor himself.Mon Rominee said:Exactumally. I think in a way Anakin wanted to be Emperor, no question, but possibly figured Luke was a little more obedient and malleable that he prolly wouldn't try to overrun his own father. He wanted the universe to fit his ideals, but they weren't necessarily all evil intent initially. He went from slave, to Jedi, back to slave, really. All from inner conflicts and emotions.
Always with Anakin there is conflict. Conflict of emotions, judgement, reasonning. You come to find that Anakin entered into the Sith order reluctantly. He only did it to "save" Padme.
Sure, later feeling he had nothing left to lose, and his inability to control his emotions consumes him utterly and it took Luke's unwavering faith in his Father to bring him back.

You know what I really love? When people tell me that they heard the "secret ending" to episode III, that Anakin betray ObiWan and they fight over a lava pit and he gets knocked in, thus the suit. I don't ever remember NOT knowing that that's what happened. But, some people arent as huge dorks as we are, are they?
Also, I don't know if Anakin thought Luke was more malleable, and he could control him, I just think that Anakin literally thought he was ALWAYS BETTER than everyone else. He thought he could beat the emperor, the empire, the rebellion, Obi Wan, even his own son. Pride was his tragic flaw, making this very much a Greek-style tragedy. He was only available to escape his hubris when he saw his own son lay down his pride at his feet, and show the true strength of a Jedi. Only then did Anakin realize that he had indeed been beaten, that he wasn't the most powerful being in the universe, because his emotions had controlled him all along.

Exactly. But all anyone can think to do is bash Jar Jar Binks. Say what you will, but this really is just a grand classic tragedy...imo, done exquisitely. A few hiccups in the first two prequels (not the biggest fan of AOTC) but all in all, since 1983 we've all known what went down...I just love seeing HOW it went down.

it comes out the 19th, and the 22 is my 30th birthday, so it seems my childhood is finally complete. i'm not big on wearing costumes, but i always wanted an emperors gaurd outfit( the red guys with long capes and a big stick in the throne room) to put inside my studio door. well, maybe my childhood will never be totally complete. may the force be with bassist everwhere

Got me tickets to see it Thursday morning at 8:30 on a digital projection screen....it's gonna be awesome. I read the book and although it was brief..I got the general basis for what happens. I think it's gonna be pretty dark. I think the scene when the Jedi younglings are dispatched is gonna be quite a shocker for those who aren't expecting it......
Read an article with Lucas a few days ago, I believe it was Entertainment Weekly, where he said they had to cut quite a few parts out to achieve a PG-13 rating. He also said the duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan was the one that had to be edited the most.
Forgot to mention, for you diehard fans (like me) check this out.

The acting...well, it's pretty bad in my opinion, but the CGI and effects are really, really worth seeing. I think they did an incredible job for the budget they had.

Man, I am really bugged by the fact my child will not be able to watch this movie for a while. The whole franchise is marketed to young kids. I can't go into a supermarket with my child without seening star wars characters on every box of cereal! You can't escape the marketing. She wants to see the movie but now we have George Lucas' fat rear end telling parents "don't take children under the age of thirteen to see the film." Thanks a pantload George! :scowl:
I think the Attack of the Clones was hard to watch. I think they could have made Anakin a little Darker or at least developed his character some more. It is hard to believe Natalie Portman would fall in love with such a whiny insecure little punk. 
They should have quit calling him Anakin and called him Darth Overlyobsessiveboyfriend. The only redeeming part of this movie is the huge fight with the armies at the end. But hey its Star Wars Its all good.

I am a recovering starwars addict...As far as the new one goes. I will see it, but i'm conflicted. Starwars, Emipre & Jedi played a major role in my childhood development. So needless to say i was extremely excited for the new ones. As many people agree, what a letdown those movies were. I did not like episode 1 at all. Episode 2 was better, but still not very great. So I don't know what to expect from the final one. I've heard its going to be sick, but I'll believe it when I see it.
I have quite a prejudice towards starwars now because of those 2 movies. So, How can i trust GL now after he has robbed me of my childhood memories with his watered-down, inconsistent, family crap??
