Erizias basses

As Tom Bowlus mentioned elsewhere on TB, one of the more interesting exhibitors at Summer NAMM 2010 in Nashville last week was Pierre Erizias, a Canadian builder of handmade boutique basses. I played his Jazz bass and a sweet fretless. Check out his website: Link Removed

Pierre's a great guy & a great player. Seems most of his basses fancier have a plus $2,000 tag. The fretless looked very much like A Rob Allen in body style -- control-less top with volume and tone rdials hidden on the back of the bass by the electronics cavity.

Pierre is the man! His basses are outstanding by any standards, but especially given how new to the game he is. Plus, he's as nice of a guy as youre likely to meet.

Plus One,

Pierre Erizias is everything you want in a luthier! He's a fantastically accomplished player. He uses the highest quality materials that he can get his hands on. He makes basses that are equivalent to the very best on the planet, and he puts his heart and soul into getting the best end result. He's not the least bit set in his ways and is constantly looking to better himself in every way.

I luckily got to try an older "Trade in" bass that Pierre had lent to a local player who is having his own bass built. I fell in love with the bass immediately.

Pierre very generously let me purchase it and I will be using it as much as possible from now on. I feel truly blessed to live so near his workshop and have the opportunity to see so more of his incredible basses as they come out of his shop.

his basses are all at once familiar and recognizable, and him to be able to make a Fender / Musicman freak like me change his ways and go towards custom basses, means that he's building badass basses with uber-mojo. I simply can't gush enough about his talent. He's an artist, player, luthier, and a true renaissance man.

The 33" singlecut 6 Pierre made me is easily the nicest
bass I have ever owned. The sound acoustically is remarkable
and notes just leap off the fingerboard. It like a Maserati......
The thing that is so hip is you can tell that a great player
built the instrument. I think I have owned a hundred or so basses and many of the top boutique makers and I am just
smitten with this thing! Oh and BTW the bass weighs 7 and 1/2
pounds and is very focused whilst still retaining a sweet high
end. As soon as my Monique comes in I will do some tracking
with it for y'alls review.
