ESP LTD SURVEYOR 405 ( NAT)

im actually 21, thats still young i know. but anyways im sure i could make this desicion myself if i open this bass and play it, ive played spectors, the sr505 and the btb575. i just cant see myself opening this bass, playing it, THEN, not liking it. i was trying to get as much input on it before i opened it. by the way does the value drop as soon as its purchased or once its opened and touched?

EDIT: i totally agree with if it feels good you will play it plain and simple, i own a gsr 200, 100$ bass. and nothing matches the playability of the neck not even my lusted for spector. i honestly am fine with my gsr 200 but he insists on getting me a new one so im gonna make sure it plays, LOOKS, and its what i want so it doesnt sit in the corner and get played over by a 100$ bass im perfectly fine with

yea im glad you replied how you did, it made me think more. anyways what im getting at is i love everything about my gsr200 except electronics. if i had these moneys and went down to the store myself id buy 200$ pair of emgs and pocket the rest for bills. instead he wants to buy me a whole new bass, and at that an eyesore(in the eye of the beholder) i just feel if i dont trade this esp for even a different esp itll sit and collect dust. and by different esp i mean one that plays and looks better than my gsr. so pretty much i have 700-1000 dollars to get myself something a bit better than this esp surveyor, not saying it isnt good, i just know for fact there is something better out there to spend my money on.

as i stated earlier you have to be the one to play it

it is your bass and if your not happy with it then trade away my man....

i was simply trying to point out that when it arrives you may love the feel and the sound so much you won't notice how it looks

my wife recently pointed out a Traben array obsession 5 string in my local mom and pop....she said, "(and i quote) OOOhhh i like this one it's pretty!".....I laughed at her and it....until i plugged it in and played it.....ugly as sin IMHO but guess what my #1 player is at the moment....yep the Traben

and FWIW my dad bought me a new bass in the early 1980's was a B.C. Rich NJ Mockingbird (I still have it cause my dad bought it....and it served me well for about 10 years)

well without getting into detail my dad left us when i was 12, and he owes 28 grand in child support. i told him id let bigons be bigons for some bass equiptment i could actually use. if i left it to him hed buy a banjo - get where im going...? i could get 10 esp surveyors from him by calling the police plain and simple. instead i just want a bass.

EDIT: "instead i just want a bass" meaning the one i like and not what he likes. hes a guitar player and the first thing he said was ITS A LES PAUL HEADSTOCK.

if you dont like it you can always send it over to me:p

Joke aside. I guess the best thing you can do is wait for it to arrive and try it. It might give you a nice surprise.

I always saw this bass hung on the wall of the music I used to visit in Hong Kong and all I can say is I liked it. I haven't plug it in but fooled around with it unplugged and was nice to play. Comfortable. Felt well made. But being it active I never decided to try it properly.

An ESP Surveryor (not an LTD though) is at the top of my bass wish list right now. And I personally think the ESP headstock is the sweetest looking Fender style headstock ever. Here's my J Four headstock:

And yes mokean, you have a LOT of growing up to do. A LOT.

fairly typical response....most stores will give you approx. 50% to 60% of the going street price....after all they want to make money...however trading for credit will probably get you a bit more....and private sell will net you the best return

in reference to your question

i would play it first....if i still didin't like it i would list it for sale or trade in the classified forum....or Craigslist and or E-Bay
