They’re all very watchable. Even the (relatively) bad ones.

There are still excellent American Independent films and an array of great, current foreign films.

But yes, 99% of Hollywood offerings are derivative, boring, silly or mostly reliant on CGI.

I actually thought Interstellar was quite good, for a fairly recent big name, big budget USA film. I like Nolan's stuff.

I also enjoyed The Prestige with Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Scarlett Johansson and Michael Caine.

Interstellar was fantastic. I loved it. But Anne Hathaway's nonsense about love transcending yadda yadda like it's a force of nature like gravity bothered me. It wasn't his love that went back in time and communicated via watch hand the solution to gravity propulsion. It was technology from the future. His performance and his gut wrenching reactions to the videos from his kids was more than enough to establish the love in the movie. Her monologue on it was ridiculous.
