Every movie is terrible.

I’m exaggerating but not by much. I see every movie that comes out. I like the movie going experience and I have moviepass and the time. Almost all of them are terrible. It’s like no one watches these things before they’re released to the theaters. Bad dialogue. Bad stories. Bad acting. Predictable. Cliche. Boring. I’ve seen every movie that’s come out since I got moviepass three months ago and almost every one of them has been god awful. It makes me feel pity for aspiring film makers that might have good ideas and will never achieve success while garbage movies make millions, exceed their budgets, and untalented hacks get rich. Carry on. Happy America day.

I've seen better film left by dishwashing detergent!

Right on!

I never go to the movies, maybe once in three years and that was with a group. Even have a Drive-In down the road and people not from around here ask if I go all the time since it is so close, "Never been." They are confused, Why? "Because the movies suck".
They do play double features where the second one is a good classic but not sitting through the new garbage to get to the next one.

I think for me it’s a combination of age, and too much really good television. Most new movies are targeted at a younger demographic. A 10 or 13 or 16 episode TV drama like Better Call Saul or WestWorld has far more time to develop interesting characters and stories than most any movie. CGI-laden special effects driven movies have been so done to death that I find them dreadfully boring.

The movies are made for people who follow Keeping up with the Kardashians.

I’ve never been one for watching TV or movies, but with our current situation of wifey spending most of the week at her sister’s place caring for her sibs, i’ve been watching some movies and stuff and i found i prefer series TV to movies and documentary films to series TV.
Not only is the content generally better, i don’t have to sit for as long, and if it’s a doc i learn something.

I went to the theatre this past weekend for the first time in many years. We saw Solo. It was a pretty decent for what it was - a western film - with spaceships and monorails instead of horses and trains. The seats in the theatre were those power recliner thingies and neighboring seats were far enough apart to keep strangers at a distance. Aside from spending something like $100 to take four people, with snacks etc. what floored me was the utter lack of cleanliness and slack attitudes of the workers about thier workspace. Most of them attached to thier phones. You'd think a major chain like Cineplex would have policies for these kinds of things. And apparently theatres are licensed now....I remember sneaking in mickies of lemon gin back in the day!

Phones are killing the service industry. I have disciplined or terminated many teens/young adults because they can’t stay on task or complete a task. It is maddening.
