The octaves are synthesized, so it's tracking. I'll probably have to raise the prices at some point. Don't know when.

Unfortunately, I think so. I tried a few chords through the Octavium before packing it up, and it didn't sound bad, it didn't warble and glitch as crazily as some octave effects will do, but it wasn't exactly happy with the chords either. So chords = no no?

Oh, and high-five to warwick.hoy for the very cool vids!
Yeah it's a damned if ya do, damned if ya don't thing.
I hear ya Cyrus and that's kinda what I figured. EXAR could put "Silent TBP" on the box and pedal enclosure and just further confuse the uninitiated. I'm sure somewhere someone has been told to beware of anything that doesn't say the exact words "True Bypass" even if the bypass is superior to mechanical TBP.
Yes, MXR has "true hardwire bypass" which is the old school crappy bypass.
Also, I think unless it is a 3PDT switch with no electronics in the bypass path it is false advertising to claim TBP. I'm not saying buffers and relays aren't better, it is just false advertising IMO.
...means that the signal passes straight through the box - directly from input to output jack, touching only the switch/relay - when the effect is bypassed. This kind of bypass arrangement is only possible to create with some sort of mechanical switching - either with a good old stompswitch, or with an audio relay. The switching is done simultaneously at the input and the output, to route the signal around the electronics in the effect, and when bypassed, the effect/tuner is completely disconnected from the input signal....
You misunderstand. With this relay system, there are no electronics in the signal path. Also, I think unless it is a 3PDT switch with no electronics in the bypass path it is false advertising to claim TBP. I'm not saying buffers and relays aren't better, it is just false advertising IMO.
