Exotic Pickguards... Let's See Them!

I decided to go with the pinup on my black P.

 OMG that is sexy. Where did you get that?

This is going to look great on my black P body! My bass also has a Warmoth wenge/ebony neck which I think will go nicely with the rosewood pg. The pg itself is rosewood veneer on a vinyl-plastic base for stability and durability. Notice no tone / vol control and no front jack.

A guy named Roger helped me out with this. He seems like a good guy and was very willing to put up with me.

Its not cheap, but I figure I'm more of a one bass guy so why not customize it to exactly what I want?

I have to sheild my cavity (that's what she said!) and relocate my jack to the side.

I also have a rosewood thumbrest coming from Birdsong guitars as well.

Looking forward to the finished bass. :bassist:

Two I custom painted, the purple one is based on Barkless Dog's artwork, used with his permission of course :)

dammit, now I'm going to have to make a pickguard for a bass that doesn't even have one :[ just so I can have a cool pickguard too :P
how would a pearloid pickguard look on a transparent blue quilted maple bass

I've been playing with the idea of cutting out a clear plexiglass pickguard for a custom build I'm doing in my spare time. I think it would look neat showing the guts of the bass, maybe even wire in a little LED to give it a glowing effect.

Well, it hasn't gotten rave reviews, but I'll chime in for that - for a first try, I like it a LOT.
