There are really only two things stopping me from seriously checking out a 7+ string.
-Styling
-Price
There are many inexpensive 6 string basses available that are very playable, a quick peek at Ebay will give you many options. Now, whether they meet your styling needs is another issue ....![]()

Bassius #080 ....
Welcome Denson! For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to hear Denson Angulo play, be sure to check out his web site ..... fantastic musician![]()
Would my Peavey Ridge BXP 4 string be considered extended range? I.E., it has the open E, the 12th fret octave E, and a 24th fret octave E.
Im just wonderin.
Yes, I've been looking at that one for a while. Saw it first at the basschat.co.uk forum.
inorite? i could live on that thing. like god's couch, except without all the cloud smell.

Sounds like a typically tuned 24 fret 4-string, right? I wouldn't consider that an extended range as 24 fret 4-strings are massively common- there's probably more of them than 21 fret 4-strings at this point. Tune it in 5ths and it would be extended range![]()
Yup, I'd have to agree .... 24 fret 4's are standard stuff these days .... tuning in 5th's however, changes the story completely ....Tune it in 5ths and it would have more range than a 5. Most people would call that ER.

Alrighty. Just wondered.
Not to sound nooby, but what do you mean when you say "tuned in fifths"?![]()
