Extreme basses

Both are on the back?
Never seen this before. What does it hold with a strap?

They're both on the back.

It hangs a lot like a Tbird really, but it balances better.

Also, that Ritter is AMAZING. I love you for owning it.

It looks really cool.

"The E and the A string is all a bass player should need to do the job properly,If you want to play fancy stuff on the skinny strings then you should be playing lead guitar.I also have another standard bass that I have pulled the d and g strings off the guitar but it has no impact live like this beast."

That part bothers me greatly.

For those who play 1/8 note 3 or 4 chord songs then 2 strings probably do suffice.
I heard a saying once, "if ya can't play good, play loud" or look good trying.

Like the BigRedX said - check out BassChat - I spent several days there myself just going through the whole thing plus I saved all the sites - simply amazing!

If any of you "thought you've seen it all", and haven't checked out this site - you're missing out!

Thanks for the kind words!

I spent over 6 months putting together the information for that thread. It came about while I was searching for a luthier to make me my ultimate fretless (I finally settled on Sei although I was severely tempted by the Pagelli) and I was bookmarking all the sites with designs that inspired me. Also I'm a big fan of using materials other than wood in guitar/bass construction. I tried to keep the luthiers/manufacturers current and only feature those who were building instruments for sale, so that anyone interested would actually be able to buy one.

I certainly put my money where my mouth is and now own 10 basses from the various builders I featured.

Ehh... That's what I thought !! I only looked at the body design of that beast and concluded it must be an Alembic, but come to think of it, I've never seen the headstock - what is it, then?

Was it this one?

If so, he dubbed it "The Hideous Claw" Probably cause it's hideous. :D

If I remember correctly, when he was having it built, he had a friend of his build it for him.
He never told us who though! :hmm::hmm:
