Oy, it’s Idiocracy writ large, but I reluctantly joined as I have some property in a different state(my old family home which I’m in the process of cleaning out), and it was primarily to keep tabs on things like break-ins, local hooliganism, issues with utilities, problems with retail in the area, etc. But it is also has been an unexpected source of face-palm inducing information monitoring. Now that so many are relying on something like Alexa to explain to them the difference between their asses and a hole in the ground, I can survey the growing ineptitude and lack of self-reliance, intitiative, motivation, and common knowledge. Inquiries that even the phrase “Google is your friend” won’t pack enough sarcasm as a response.I've heard nothing good about that one.

That doesn’t address the many users worldwide who have come to rely on them for critical communications.
Any shutdown, or widespread interruption, should serve to bring it to the attention of the thinkers who will seek a better solution than what currently exists.
A big question if control by corporations or by governments is better.
