Agree with you.. totally out of control.
They did have good intentions when it first came to be.. according to a former Facebook executive. Family reunions, organ donors from around the world etc..
but it took a really bad turn and has done so much damage to society.

Agreed. And what Zuckerschmuck has planned with his "Metaverse" is only going to make things worse.

More than a few people think the Internet is the most significant technological development since the printing press. Unfortunately, the advent and domination, of a handful of privately run social media platforms have abused its potential as many here have observed.

That doesn’t address the many users worldwide who have come to rely on them for critical communications.

Any shutdown, or widespread interruption, should serve to bring it to the attention of the thinkers who will seek a better solution than what currently exists.
