Faith No More

LOOK AT MY NAME.(i know patton wrote it) Bill Gould is my absolute favorite bassist. His bass line on that song "The World is Yours" is awesome. I cant even form coherent sentences about how much I love the Angel Dust album. I paid 65 bucks for it on vinyl, I got Patton to sign it, that was cool.

And about Patton and his bass player choices....always great. Trevor Dunn, Stu Brooks...and the guy is no slouch on bass either. Check out Peeping Tom's "5 Seconds", simple but amazing groove. He also played the bass on the very first Fantomas recording "Chariot Google". In fact he did EVERYTHING on that track. On his latest release he played everything as well( A Perfect Place, its a film score).

Cheers to two great musicians.

And Trevor Dunn.....no words describe this guys talent. Super nice guy too.

Philistine.

He is a testament to what rock bass playing should be

On some songs he sure is! On others he's a testament to what soul bass should be (something like say, Evidence), to what thrash bass should be (Malpractice, Suprise! You're Dead), what gospel\praise should be (Just A Man) and "what the hell am I listening to?" should be (Get Out, Smaller and Smaller, Cuckoo for Caca). He even drops a tasty, groovy and song-serving bass solo on Kindergarten. Ah, I love it when Bill Gould gets props!!!!
He's got a new rock band coming soon, too!

billy gould I beleive the bass players name is ,he is very good but kind of minimalist .Faith no more was one of the best bands of the 90s but got written off as a chili peer rip off for the song you mentioned ..King for a day fool for a liftime is one of my favorite albums

"Edge of the World" and "Woodpeckers from Mars" being on the same album gives a new FNM listener a small glimpse of what they are like. My wife insists I'm lying when I tell her it's the same band.

Also, check out the video "You Fat Bastards"........Great stuff.

Saw them in '90 doing an opening gig for Billy Idol.....Great show all the way around. Again in '97 and aside from the opening act "Limp Bizdik", it too was a great show. Glad to see the band, and more importantly Billy Gould getting some love on here.

I'll say! We can wish....:(

I'm sure by now you know your wish has come true. Sadly, I'm left to just watch youtube vids from download. They are STILL amazing! The cover of Peaches and Herb's "Reunited" to open their set was hilarious and brilliant, and I love their treatment of "Chariots of Fire" as an intro to "Stripsearch". Nice to see them play some pre-Patton material as well. Particularly "Pokerface (Gaga)/Chinese Arithmetic".
