Fake Fender Decal?

Hey there so I took off the neck to see if the body and the neck were of the same manufacturing. I cam to the conclusion that it probably wasn't. Can some one maybe decode the serial number that is on this body for me?

Why is the serial number on the back of the neck? I have a 97 mim fretless j and its on the front of the neck right under the fender logo. judging by the serial number that bass would be an 98... So why is the serial on the back of the neck?
