There's no law against that in China.

This is very true. All of these clone basses won't have malfunctioning electronics and stuff you guys are alluding to. I wouldn't be surprised if many of these basses are coming from the factories that produce actual budget guitars (squier, etc.) for the US market. It is pretty common for a factory to make legit products during the day and then keep running through the night making counterfeits.

I'm not trying to excuse what they're doing. I think it sucks.

I've reported this to everyone I can think of to report it to.

I've had several of Carey's basses, still have one and used it to track my new bands demo.
I'm not sure I've ever heard anything sound that good.

These guy, and their business model can't fail hard enough to suit me.

other than the crappy bridge and PU cover, that baby blue ric on aliexpress looks really cool. That's the problem with these though, they look like the real thing, but they don't play/sound/feel like the real thing at all.

The factories putting these things out are likely the same factories building Cort, Squier, Ibanez, etc. It really depends on the product and the volume. A huge shipment of 'Nike' sneakers will raise red flags but no one will know the difference in something like a bass guitar.

Yeah.
Notice their item ad copy makes absolutely no mean of Rickebacker, unlike the Nordstrand/Nordy ad, which absolutely does.
