I also have an ugly-sister-love issue with a bass. I don't worry much about it, because I love the bass. I have considered a refinish, but then I'd have to change out the hardware... and the finish covers the entire bass.

Wow, what a funny coincidence, I dislike that bass for the same reasons I find my own love unattractive...That's the one !
OK, so I acquired a Warwick Corvette $$ 4 (2008) in a deal
I absolutely love everything sound-wise about it, but I am totally uncomfortable with its looks and chubby little neck (even though the neck plays very well).
What is your advice ?
Do I seek counselling? Do I move on with the possibility of not finding "the sound" again?
Normally I can grow to love idiosyncrasies in an instrument but this Warwick is taking me to the wire.
Am I the only one ?

Warwick neck profiles have changed a couple times over the years. I've got an 05' five string and it's a chunky, D-profile neck. I've also got a 15' GPS streamer 5-string and the neck is MUCH thinner with a C-profile. If you love the tone maybe try to find a newer GPS $$.
Nothing wrong with not being able to bond with a bass because of the way it looks.OK, so I acquired a Warwick Corvette $$ 4 (2008) in a deal
