Fallen in love with an ugly sister ?

Is it supposed to emulate an acoustic sound hole? 
Mine's a Corvette 5 and I will agree, it's a great sounding instrument. I wouldn't call it ugly by any stretch of the imagination. Just has a certain German no frills vibe to it, sort of like my 57 Volkswagen.
Thanks for all the responses so far. Basically just about everything said has been a repeat of the arguments that have been circling my head.
The biggest comfort is that I AM NOT ALONE !
For the record, only 3.8kgs, minimal neck-dive (I could re-position the bottom strap holder, à la Thumb) and the pickguard (which, controversially, I quite like will come off no prob.
I wonder if Warwick would supply me with a Streamer body, but maybe I am too old to get a mortgage now.

Fine instruments, but highly aesthetically challenged. And yes, looks matter – a lot.
If it's really that much greater than everything else, and you have to have it, just use it for recording.
Personally, I wouldn't play one live. IMO they are ugly, and project a douchey, techie image. There are enough great looking basses out there that are great in quality that you shouldn't have to compromise in the looks department. If you like they way they look, then you're set. But if you don't, then choose something else, and don't think twice about it.

I don't see what the fuss is about. The pick guard looks silly, but the bass is perfectly fine.

I was curious, so did a Google search for "warwick corvette $$" and clicked on "images." I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled.... and never saw a single one with that style of pickguard. I did, however, see lots of pix of the same model/color bass without pg's and they all looked cool to me.
I would remove the pickguard and rock It with pride.
I think it looks cool!
Sometimes the ugly sister has it where it counts and give the best ride. Put her through the paces and see if you're still on the honeymoon together.
And as others said before, one person's "no way" is another person's "yes, please!"
I mentioned that my #1 bass is one that's not typically "my type" at all, but I don't need or want for anything else.
My #2 bass (which was my #1 for a while, but I'm now looking to retire it) is something of an "ugly sister/Cinderella/Charlie Brown Tree" case. Anyway, when I saw this neglected bass languishing in the corner of a music store covered in dust, its paint all chipped, and being ignored by patrons due to its unconventional body shape, I said, "ehh, why not?" and played it a bit. It was a much nicer bass than I expected. It just needed some cleaning up, some maintenance, and a little love overall. And with me, it's become the belle of the ball.

I have two white Jazzes, I don't like any bass in white, but people say they "suit" me, and I love how they feel and sound. It's up to you what compromise you can work with. Basses are like knives, you get one that works for you and then you can probably stop thinking about it. Is a comfortable but clunky neck that big of an issue? Is it REALLY that unbearable to look at? If so, maybe the sound isn't worth the hassle. If not, I'd keep it and just play until the neck isn't a problem anymore.
