The thing about Berlin is that he was born without a tact filter. He talks straight out of his ass. He's a monster player, but his tendency to spout babel has kept me from digging him a lot more than I would otherwise.matrok said:Really? That's interesting. and supposedly Flea first started using a pick cause he and John Frusciante had a Joy Division cover band post-Californication, and lord knows you cant play Joy Division with your fingers and make it sound right. He said it opened up a whole new world of possibilities for him.
and i also remember hearing that Phil Lesh, back in the early 70s, had some felt-coated picks he would use, giving it a softer sounding attack. sounds interesting...
