Famous Last Words...

In one of my bands from years gone by, the drummer knocked up the lead singer and the both quit the band.

Your situation should be just fine:)

I just bought a Fodera without telling the wife, but I think it's gunna be ok!

^ This made me laugh.

My guitarist is doing this with his girlfriend. He's obsessed with the whole band being great and wants everyone to contribute fantastic guitar, bass and drum lines. but the truth is the weakest point is his g/f's singing. she's a mediocre singer at best and really isn't on par with the skill level of the rest of the band but when I spoke to him about it he claimed its a good fit and that if we get rid of her he quits. Then he will start nit picking everyone everyone else in the band about what there doing wrong and tell me that hes actively looking to replace one or two member's cuz there not contributing enough complexity.

He also tried to do this in a band we were in together a while back with a different girlfriend. Never brought her on because she was terrible. He kept trying to convince us though. even made us sit through 3 different auditions for her and different times to convince us.

I honestly really hate romantic relationships in bands because it leads to members being blind to problems and overly defensive to real solutions. If its just the 2 of you then go for it. Don't make others suffer by forming a band though. just my .02

It's a 50/50 chance that it'll work out.

According to how most relationships work out these days. Staying together either working in the band or on a personal level is unfortunately unlikely.

No to be negative but...How many instruments have you sold or traded in the last 3-5 years that you absolutely loved or couldn't live without when you first bought them. It can be the same with women for some people.

Guilty as charged, lol

It's all good, we're not sortof seeing one another now.
Yeah, things happen that fast around these parts.

(...and there's no issues with her seeing the other guy in the band, she already went there and won't ever again.)
