In fact I do get my gigs cause I play mostly my Dingwalls (and for my ideas and abilities too). People ask me to bring the "fanned" basses and some even specifically ask me to use the low strings and notes to achieve a certain feeling and vibe for the tunes (songs vary from reggae to prog to folk to pop). Last night at a recording session, a composer specifically asked that I bring a Dingwall with me. Once he heard the Dingwall Z3 and he had me play some other high end basses that were there from some other pros, he approved of the tone and growl. He asked me to compose a bassline to fit a song but use mostly the low strings and notes to bring some aggression and life in the tune (pop rock). Once I composed and recorded the bassline, the composer said "It's really fantastic and it ROCKS!!! I wonder what others will do to perform that bassline live, cause they won't have a Dingwall" That made me really proud of the least limitations that my basses offer
