Favorite Bass Purchase 2022?

Fender CS 1960 Jazz.

Picked up this Schecter GT as a cheaper bass I could leave in the back of my SUV and not worry about it. Quickly found its way into my main herd. Strong sharp tone.

It's the only 4-string I've owned in decades (well, I have a '64 EB-2 and a '69 Jazz, but they don't get played) and I was surprised at how much cleaner my slapping is on a 4. I don't slap much, but good to know.

Naturally since this one failed to fill the role of SUV-bass I get another NBD soon :)

Thinking more about it, I've had a really good run with gear this year. Besides the Schecter GT ‐

Switched to Temple pedalboards. First time I've ever been satisfied with a board.

Switch to a DSM Simplifier Bass Station preamp. Fantastic tool, I'm getting the tone I want out to FOH.

Added an Earthquaker Avalanche Run, best delay/reverb I've used.

2023 is looking to be a year of less spending for me. Planning to sell a few basses and both of my Carvin stacks this year, maybe a balance.

Reactions: Doctor Intrepid
A punk rock girl with some mental health issues came into the store I work at, picked up a bass to play, and proceeded to get lost in it and love it. We talked briefly and she told me she wants to play bass but can't afford one. She took a pic of the bas and I asked if she's going to text it to family for a gift, she said her family doesn't really do thing for her. I purchased it as she play without saying a word and right as she was exiting, I told her "you're forget your bass...Merry Christmas."

Her reaction was worth every penny.
