Favorite Bass Purchase 2022?

Have not purchased a bass since 2020 because:

‘81 Ibanez 924-DSL. Waited a musical lifetime to score one, and finally did this year. Had it planed, refretted, and PLEK’d. Amazing.

Fender Custom Shop ‘66 Jazz. Technically bought in 2020, but it took 2 years to be completed. Took possession this past summer.

This has to be my favorite purchase. Schecter "Research Riot-5" after making some minor adjustments to the bridge it plays and sounds incredible.

Wow. I haven't thought about it until just this minute. I don't think I've made any bass purchases at all in 2022. That's pretty unusual for me. I have six days left. There are certainly some basses I've been watching on the Talkbass classified ads. Should I pull the trigger in the next few days or finish out the year in this uncharacteristic fashion?

Settled on a Squier Jaguar H and am very happy with it.

This is mine. Hofner Shorty travel bass.

1998 M.I.M. Fender jazz. Upgraded EMG active pickups, hipshot bridge. Yes it's an abomination to purists but it sounds like a monster.

No basses bought this year, only pedals. The standout for me was a Lusithand Alma compressor.

I can't say enough good things about this pedal. It might not be for everyone, but for me, this wins the compressor wars.

A punk rock girl with some mental health issues came into the store I work at, picked up a bass to play, and proceeded to get lost in it and love it. We talked briefly and she told me she wants to play bass but can't afford one. She took a pic of the bas and I asked if she's going to text it to family for a gift, she said her family doesn't really do thing for her. I purchased it as she play without saying a word and right as she was exiting, I told her "you're forget your bass...Merry Christmas."

Her reaction was worth every penny.

This is the most positive story I heard this year. Faith in humanity restored. Great job man.

So Anyway, many years ago I bought a $70 Apollo 'Beatle' Bass from a pawn shop. We called it the Potato Bass because of the headstock.
I think I sold it at one of our yard sales.

So Anyway, picked up a cool Tuck & Roll bass amp from my buddy and a G&L Fallout bass from the B Stock section at SW.
They really fit in the eclectic little Honky-Tonk-Rock'n'Roll trio I joined this year.
Might eventually sell the Walnut Ric.
