Rotosound Swing Hybrid Gauge 40-60-80-100.
To me, lighter strings cut through the mix better. They're great for your left hand, but I like more tension for my right hand. Like 45-105. But, I compromise for the sound.

D'Addario has by far the greatest selection range, and is to my knowledge the only current maker of half rounds (my favorites). I like Fender flat wounds. Most of my 6 string guitars have micro-coated Elixirs.

For my Fender Jazz 4, DR High beams
For my Brice HXP-406 6 string, either DR or Earnie ball 6 string extra length set

those are the strings that compliment the basses tone the most

I usually play Ernieball REG Slinkies. More recently I strung up my Fender P Deluxe with Daddario Chromes and have really enjoyed the feel and sound. I am thinking about stringing up my Fender Jag (main gigging bass) with them because I've enjoyed them so much on my other bass, but I am not sure what it will sound like.
