Favorite beverage during practice/ show?

Regardless of of the location, regardless of the occasion, regardless of the time of day:

Beer. Good, dark, strong beer like Maudite or Holsten Festbock. Or something lighter (in alcohol content) like Fuller's London Porter or Hockley Stout.

As for the bud/bud light drinkers: you do know that carbonated water is a lot cheaper, right?

Depends on if the beverages are comped! ;)

I quit alcohol a few years ago but still like the taste and thirst quenching of beer, so oftentimes I go with an O'Douls or similar N/A beverage, never more than one per set. And since I have been awakened by dehydration leg cramps more nights than I care to remember, I try to balance anything like that with an equal or greater amount of straight, BOTTLED water (anyone who takes water straight out of a bar tap is just asking for it). I generally don't do caffeine since I'm usually a little jittery before going on anyway and I have enough trouble not rushing tempo the way it is.

Back in my [much] younger days I played a show in Chicago where I did two or three shots of Jagermeister right before going on, then another one at each break plus beers during the sets. Came the third set and my fingers were literally numb. That was not a good time (nor was load-out or the day after) and I've never come close to being that stupid again.

At rehearsals: One Anchor Porter. Two, if it goes long.

At jams: Several Anchor Porters and a shot or three of a good Irish whisky.

At gigs: Whatever is the darkest beer the venue has, one per set at the most (usually less).

After the gig: Where's that Irish?

Not always. At the last gig we played, last year(sigh), Bud on tap-free, Pepsi, water or coffee-$2.
