First-of-all: For all the Squire Freaks around here, why have I never heard mentioned his CURRENT band, The Syn? I saw them at Shank Hall in Milwaukee with my daughter last year; Their drummer couldn't make it, so they had a fill-in drummer - it was Allen White! It was great, and the Syn album is beautiful! ..Sounds something like listening to a new/old Yes album!

OK - back on-topic: If ya' ask me, a 'chorus' that has only ONE modulating delay shouldn't even be CALLED a chorus. The CEB-3 is one of these - it has only one, single delay time that can be modulated; then it's mixed back in with the dry original. It's a straight vibrato, if you put a dummy plug in the second output jack; a 'doubler' if you use it regular, with the filter set to full-freq.

I dunno.. I think a single delay should be a 'doubler', and MULTI delays (two or more - regen doesn't count) should reserve the name "chorus".

No it shouldn't!!!!!!!! Have you tried one:rolleyes: Not everyone wants to sound like Chris Squire. I really don't like this pedal's flange at all and the PM sound is weak. The only thing really going for the T.C. is that it is REALLY quiet, so for recording direct it works very well, but you have to like the sound, think Roland jazz chorus. I find it thin sounding overall, and I don't like pedals that distort if they are not supposed to, and, if you set the input gain wrong the thing distorts. If there ever was a pedal you should try before you buy this is the one.

wholly crap!!! this is awsome I just bought a used Rocktron Tsunami, and Noticed that the ambience feature wasn't doing much for me and when I tweaked the knob for it weird things happened. After looking at this thread I gave them a ring and now I have a new one winging its way to me this moment. Just like the other guy in the thread. So then I'll make a trip over to my guitarists house and use his computer to record some clips for you guys.

I haven't paid all that much attention to chorus as I should have. I've been newly appreciating it lately. First - When I visited my brother recently, his Replifex, output to stereo valve amps and a pair of 4X12s, really impressed me with how 'enveloping' chorus could feel - especially in stereo, of course.

I heard a tune on the radio recently that had this.. just gooey, GOOEY sound to it - and it was so thick - obviously an 'ensamble' or 'multichorus' or whatever - that I just couldn't latch-on in my mind.. to any descrete - or should I say composite (?) - discernable pitch-shift. It was like averaging flat-and-sharp at the same time.. It was a very "non-vibrato" kind of chorusing! The pitch of a note was still very descernable (sometimes I worry about singing off-pitch if the guitarist has too-wild of a modulation effect). But in stereo like that, it was just was just, like, glowing, shimmering..

Well as some can now tell: I'm really on newbe on the fine points of chorus character; I've fairly-well ignored this important process - this important listener experience, I think.

I'm sort-of having some sort of chorus epiphany lately -

It's another, 'hidden' adjustment - a useable control inside the box.

"Trimmer" usually refers to a fine adjustment that adjusts some parameter over a narrow range, and it's usually adjusted with a screwdriver (no 'knob').

I might remind y'all that just because you see a trimmer pot, doesn't mean you should tweek-around on it. Some trimmable circuit parameters require special equipment and test setups to get right.
