This time of year, I turn into a freakin' weirdo. I dig Kelly Clarkson's Wrapped in Red record in its entirety. I even dig Michael Buble's Christmas album. In. Its. Entirety.

I am a huge STP fan, but Scott Weiland's Christmas album does absolutely nothing for me. I draw the line here. Celine Dion is also a great big no. That said, I still dig the staples: Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Etta James, Sinatra, etc.

My favorite Christmas song, however, is still F*** Christmas by Fear. It reminds me of who I used to be and that's what I spend most of the holidays doing: reflecting. I get a few weeks off this time of year, so I have lots of time to do just that.

So many. Love the changes in the Christmas Song, and White Christmas. Love the unexpected changes in Sleigh Ride and It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Vocally, I like to hear O Holy Night, and Ave Maria--even a little Do You Hear What I Hear.

This is probably a little bit of a tangent but it's a beautiful piece. We do a "masterworks" Christmas concert with the choir and orchestra every year at the high school where I teach. Over the last 27 years I've done my share of Christmas music. This is something new we did this year and it is my new favorite.
