Favorite effect aquisition of 2009?

The DDyna Thinman was a big surprise hit with me, and I use it all the time now. Also I have run into a surprising number of really likable compressors this year--it seems like the ratio of good:bad has tilted significantly to the good side. Maybe I'm just being pickier about what I buy though.

Ooh this is tough. If you had asked me a couple weeks ago, I would have said the Devi Ever Improbability Drive, both the crazy amounts of sounds and the corksniffer/unobtanium factor. But man, the Philosopher's Tone really blew me away last night at practice. My tone sounded so much fuller and punchier, it gave me sustain for days, and my highs were really singing too. So much so that my drummer even said something to me afterwards about how good it sounded. It might not be the sexiest purchase, but it's just so damn useful and sounds great.

I bought four pedals this year that are still on my board (not sure how many came and went). In order of my current favorites:

1. fuzzhugger great wall
2. EHX SMM/H
3. EBS BassIQ
4. EHX SEM

I'm done with effects for awhile, though I do need to pick up some kind of a preamp that can level the very hot signal from my Warwick and the weaker signal from my NS NXT. Thinking a Bassbone might do it, but I hear its a tone suck. I'm open to suggestions...
