I'm done with effects for awhile, though I do need to pick up some kind of a preamp that can level the very hot signal from my Warwick and the weaker signal from my NS NXT. Thinking a Bassbone might do it, but I hear its a tone suck. I'm open to suggestions...

Why not just pick up a clean boost to bring the signal of the NS up to par with the Warwick? That would probably be your cheapest, smallest, easiest option.

I took the plunge into SABDDI land and am not looking back. I also took the plunge when I got my aggie Octamizer and got a pedal board for the sans amp, tuner, aggie and a EFX doc Q

fwiw I'm back to just the tuner and sans amp. too much stuff . . . i still use the board sometimes but I'm much happier w/o it. I'm a simple guy, what can I say . . .

The only effect I aquired in 2009 was a Boss CEB-3 chorus. I returned it soon after purchasing it.
