Favorite "emotional" guitar solo

Metallica - Nothing Else Matters
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
Rush - 2112
Death - Voice of the Soul
Metallica - Fade To Black
Pantera - Hollow

If any guitar solo was gonna bring me to tears, it would be one of those. And unlike many, many people, I find Kirk Hammett's solos to be quite emotive.

I plan to buy them all. John Frusciante is my favorite guitar player and by far my favorite guitar player still making music. I'm Obsessed with the Peppers.
Don't forget to download the album he put together for free online!

I really can't get enough of his solo work.

Chicago/Terry Kath (RIP) - I'm a Man (most underrated guitarist ever)

Legend has it that Hendrix caught a CTA show in the late 60's. After, he went backstage and told one of the members of the band "your guitarist is better than me"
You got it!

Not to mention Introduction, Questions 67 & 68, In the Country!

I saw him get nailed in the shin by a full can of pop and all he did was grimace a bit, never once opening his eyes, kept on playing.
Very sorely missed player who would be very highly regarded today had he not passed so early.

Steve Lukather`live solo on "I will remember"
Billy Corgan´s acoustic solo on "Landslide"

Everyone has forgotten "Little Wing"?
I know, it´s a cliché.. BUT
I especially love the solo work of Marius Muller, a norwegian blues/rock guitarist.. He used to nail that solo in every way.

+1 for Comfortably Numb, plus alot of Rodger's other work with Floyd...
