I'm a big fan of Marta Altesa. There are pages of arguments about if she gets noticed because she's pretty. Well, of course. She's totally hot. That's not why she's a favorite, though. It's that she has so much fun in the groove. Nobody seems to be enjoying playing bass more than her.
Tal is my female Hero, great bass player.
My favorite isn't what I'd call an inspiration to my bass playing, but she owns her bass and rocks like nobody I've ever seen live.
Katie Lynn Campbell
One that's not a good bassist, but someone I had a crush on in junior high - D'Arcy Wretzky.
...all good one mentioned.
I don't see Tracy Wormworth (Waitresses, Sting) mentioned yet.
Esté owns "bass face" like a champ! Always great to watch!
Lena Abe from My Dying Bride
I have to brag for a moment...
Not only did Divinity Roxx follow me on Instagram, she also likes my pics here and there.
'Bout time somebody mentioned Bridget Kearney.
I'm a fan of Tal and Meshell, but if you can play well and with inspiration, you have my attention. It makes no difference to me what body you occupy.
All those mentioned are great bassists to me.
Why is this even a question.
Lee Marie Hostetter from Children 18:3. Crazy awesome stage presence, and she sings lead on some songs too.
From a band that came and went before the majority of people on here were born.
Jean Millington from Fanny. Just in incredible bassist.
Well hmm there is that girl that plays YYZ in those Youtube videos?! She is very good. I am at work where all things Youtube are blocked but -yeah her!
I always love watching women playing bass well. Oh and soccer- if i ever find a girl that plays bass and soccer it would be AWESOME!
Yes, I think I still have one of their albums in my collection too. Very under rated group at that time but technically on their game. I guess I have become an old fart then.
this was the first time I did not look at the bass first
Always liked Meshell NdegeOcello
