Favorite Gibson bass

Alright, here goes...
I've yet to really hear a Gibson Bass I like. I'm usually a Fender Jazz kinda guy (for hard and heavy stuff). So who all out there is a Gibson fan and which models are generally the favorites?
From YouTube, the only model I've heard a demo of that sounds good for what I like is the Victory model.

I enjoyed playing my 70s EB3s, short scale, man, I could fly on those things. To bad I wasn’t paid by the note back then.

One problem, well two problems. One, I never could get a good sound out of them, and Secondly, I didn’t sound as good as Jack Bruce, but that probably wasn’t Gibson’s fault.

Cool bass

Perhaps regrettably, I couldn’t consistently live up to it.

Of course, Albert King would play his Flying V guitar sitting down (at least in his later years) and Jimi used his for his mellower blues, so I guess it’s just in my head, but to me the design kinda seems to require attitude. And suitable pants :bassist:

The few times I've done it has been a juggling act with me no matter what kind of a bass it's been. I think I'm too used to having the strap on and not having to worry about how I move.
I've done it in music stores.

Im 6'3" with long arms, when standing with my bass strapped on it sits below my waist. If I wore my strap while sitting it would just dangle abut a foot off my shoulders and be nuisance.

11 grand for a bass is definitely either a vital organ or your kid's college fund. ("It's OK, Jimmie, you can go learn a trade!")

Vital organ it is!

I need to sell my stunt liver.
