Favorite Live Album

Favorite Live Albums:

Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong
The Smiths - Rank

These both have an energy that gives me shivers.

Favorite Live DVDs:

Coheed and Cambria - Neverender
Between the Buried and Me - Colors
The Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense

Coheed and Cambria perform admirably... Their first four albums performed over four nights. Claudio's voice holds up throughout the whole DVD. BTBAM performs PERFECTLY. No audible mistakes, and the sound quality is impeccable. The Talking Heads are... The Talking Heads. Enough said.

The Nighthawks Ten Years Live! (Less known-killer blues/rock)
All original material, thoroughly rehearsed as their middle set of three for months before being recorded in front of a home town crowd at The Bayou in D.C. New Year's Eve 1981-1982.

All time favorite live album-Allman Brothers Band At The Fillmore East (the first released version-The Fillmore Concerts and the one released on Grateful Dead label are great-but the original vinyl is etched in my mind)

Overall the Rush live albums, all of them, are great. From an overall standpoint I would say Show of Hands is my favorite. the band sounded great, the production was about as good as you can do with a live album, and the song selection was good.

I would also have to put a vote in for Marillions La Gaza Ladra. Great album recorded live to eight track...a great band at the peak of their powers.
