favorite live albums

Rush "All the World's a Stage."
Lou Reed "Rock and Roll Animal."
Led Zeppelin "The Song Remains the Same."
Jethro Tull "Live: Bursting Out."
Yes "Yessongs."
Cheap Trick "At Budokan."
(grudgingly)
KISS "Alive."

There are others, but those really stand out. Lots of various Hendrix live tracks, but no particular album stands out.

A lot of acid & H around l.a. around that time. It was dark. I lost some friends who were into hard drugs. Anyway I don't think that part of the song was serious--maynard would talk a lot during shows, sometimes funny almost always sarcastic smart ass pedantic, and tool was part of that green jello crowd. I think it's just part of their superiority/ darker-than-you smarter than you complex. as for the lyrics dropping acid causes delusions & hallucinations among other things.

Deep Purple "Made in Japan"
The Tubes "What do you want from Live"
Uriah Heep "Live 74"
Thin Lizzy "Live & Dangerous"
James Brown "Love Power Peace"
Spock's Beard "Don't try this at home"
The Flower Kings "Meet the Flower Kings"
Humble Pie "Live at The fillmore"

I see a lot of Humble Pie likes in this thread, the recently released four CD set from all four shows has a nice mix and without the edits of the original.

Maceo Parker - Life on Planet Groove
Level 42 - A Physical Presence
The Jam - Dig the New Breed (and Live Jam)
Fu Manchu - Go For It...Live!
Sting - Bring on the Night
Iron Maiden - Maiden Japan (and Alive after Death)
U2 - Under a Blood Red Sky
Bob Marley - Babylon by Bus
Parliament - P-Funk Earth Tour

Edited to add:

Brand New Heavies - Live in London
Pixies - Invalid Link Removed (the tour where they offered a live recording of the show you attended, this one from La Jolla, CA. I saw them and have the CD!)
Duran Duran - Live at Hammersmith '82
Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains the Same
Bad Brains - The Youth are Getting Restless

And since DVDs are being included, I'll add Live Aid.

Are you going to catch P-Funk at the House of Blues next month?
