A bit of a zombie thread resurrection here, but I watched the 1986 Transformers animated movie not too long ago and forgot how much this original soundtrack by Vince DiCola killed and how well it suited the film. I liked it so much, I re-watched it, got all of the songs in chronological order and have been blasting it my car for the last few weeks.

Here's probably my favourite song, but the whole soundtrack is great:


Apparently Vince is largely influenced by ELP and Yes and you can definitely hear it. I love Prog Rock (it's my favourite genre) and I'm wondering how this movie, a movie I watched literally hundreds of times as a child, influenced my taste in music in the years to come.

By the way, I know it was all played on a synthesizer, but I love the tone of that bass!

A Mighty Wind (they may be taking the p#$$ but are pretty convincing songwriters!)
I also maintain a soft spot for Electric Dreams (ahh the '80s)
