Favorite Preamp Pedal for Stingray?

The Euphonic head has great EQ, but is also very clean. I love the growl of a GK head, but the Euphonic is really good with my Warrior.

The preamp section of the EA stuff is great, as is the onboard preamp on the ‘ray. With that in mind, maybe a preamp isn’t what you should be looking for at all. Maybe a drive or dirtbox would serve your needs better. Or a compression that saturates a bit. Or both.

The pedal market is so saturated (see what I did there?) right now that it’s easy to get swamped with options and the line between preamps and overdrives has gotten extremely thin. I suggest maybe looking for a compressor that saturates or a simple overdrive rather than adding yet another preamp/EQ section to your chain.

Aguilar Tone Hammer can be a clean eq with the AGS off or provide an alternate, more colored flavor with AGS on.

I've been using the DSM Humboldt Simplifier Bass Master with my 5HH and really like it. It's all analog, versatile, and can go clean, dirty, or a blend of both. If you don't like a lot of knobs and switches in a small package though then it's probably not for you.

A Stingray into a Sansamp is a classic combination. Don’t hesitate to boost the SR preamp.

Which EA amp do you have..? On my iAmp350, you can crank that gain all you like, it's not going to give you any personality. It's just not designed to do that. I can barely make it overload. However, if you use the front-facing effect loop, you can loop in all sorts of stuff. I've used a BDDI, a TC Mojomojo pedal, and a TC Spark pedal and they all sound great. I haven't yet tried running my EBS Valvedrive that way - but I assume it will work.

Just watch that "Deep" button on the front panel...;-)

Lusithand F1 Pedal. Another resonant filter preamp, with two separate filters that you can blend. I just got one out of the initial 50, and rumor has it that they are going back into production at some point. Very cool, fun pedal. I use it with my Ray 34 and G&L l-2000 quite a bit.
