Favorite short-lived TV series

Some of my favorites have already been mentioned in the thread over the years (Father Ted, The Young Ones, Fawlty Towers) so I'll just add "Bottom" to my list. It's essentially juvenile humor with cartoon violence but Rik Mayall & Ade Edmonson (Rick & Vyvyan in The Young Ones) are incredible in it.

Even the opening credits still make me laugh after hundreds of viewings.

I saw "Sledge Hammer!" and "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." mentioned in a couple of OT threads, and those are two of my favorite short-lived TV shows. Among the others are:

"Tenspeed and Brown Shoe," starring Ben Vereen and Jeff Goldblum

"It's Your Move," starring a young Jason Bateman

"Square Pegs," starring Sarah Jessica Parker

"Men Behaving Badly," starring Justine Bateman, Ron Eldard and Rob Schneider (for Season 1, anyway; Bateman and Eldard left the show after the first season and it went straight into the toilet)

"Millenium," starring Lance Henriksen

Too funny, I just read the title of this & immediately thought of Sledge Hammer!!

Also "Tom goes to the Mayor", loved that one...well, obviously...I mean, what with my avatar & all...

Fawlty Towers with John Cleese is as hysterical as Monty Python and it featured the sexy as hell Connie Booth.

It was designed to be short lived--which is a strength & there was a considerable amount of time between the two series.

But still a short lived series & one of the best.

James Gregory as Nick, who tried to teach his students

how to be a detective.

Foot In the Door...about a widower (Harold Gould) who becomes

quite the flirt lol and this troubles his uptight son and DIL.

Bernard Hughes as "Doc"...1975-1976. Doc was sweet humored,

down to earth guy who really cared about his patients whether they

could pay him or not. Also had on the show Mary Wickes who tells

it like it is...her voice is unforgettable!

Finder of Lost Loves? Anthony Franciosa as Maxwell who helps

reunite lost loves. Assistants Deborah Adair and Anne Jeffreys.

Glenn Ford's...Cade's County...1971-1972.

or Jack Warden's...Jigsaw John(1976) based on the real life story

of LAPD robbery/homicide detective.
