favorite Star Trek series

i like TNG and TOS, in that order. i can watch Enterprise if it's on, but i won't go out of my way to watch it (though i do dig T'Pol from the mirror universe...)

never really watched Voyager or DS9. for me, the crew from TNG is absolutely perfect. i love Data and Picard's characters. and how can i forget Dr. Crusher :D

i also enjoy all of the movies (especially the TNG timelines), even the newest one although i really got into Star Trek only recently (and i completely forgot the plot of the new movie)

Which ST series re-did the alternate universe thing [with belly shirts]?????

wow. have to go on record, for full disclosure, as a star wars fan up front.

of all the series, DS9 gets my vote. it was a continuing story, that felt like it was written by season, not episode like the originals / TNG. there was room for the characters to breathe, and grow. did not watch many of the others.

of the movies, while i have seen them all at least once, the only one that I really liked was the new one. the whole alternate reality angle was a brilliant way to reboot the series, and exceptionally well done. I thought it was one of the better movies i saw last year.

in the old movies, only #2 really stands out. probably because it was re-runned on weekends throughout my late teen / early 20 slacker days incessantly.

I've watched Star Trek for the first time only recently. The original series made me laugh, and I cannot fall asleep anymore without watching a TNG episode or two :) It's awesome.

The Original Series. No one is better than Kirk. He will always be THE Captain.

I have an original series Starfleet emblem tattooed on my arm (The design that was originally the "Enterprise" emblem. In the original series, each ship had it's on emblem. The "Enterprise" versin from the original series didn't have the circle.)

Know what drove me nuts in "Enterprise" is all the tech looked like it completely surpassed the original series, and half the newer generations.... so dumb. The NX series ship might as well have been the Enterprise-G. And that theme song. Oh God, that theme song.

"I've got faith.... it's cancelled."

Oh, and Jolene Blalock as T'Pol was hot I guess, but really, all the Vulcan in heat nonsense episodes and sexing it up was as desperate for ratings as 7-of-9 and her tremendous "Borg Implants".

I mean come on. Year's worth of hair in no time. No scars. "cute" appliance on eye. Last I checked, you lost the eye from the implant.
